Amanda, the founder of Portland Sitters, is a creative and driven entrepreneur who loves to help people. She built the company to help local students and young adults find flexible work, and help families find childcare with ease. Amanda is also the CEO of the company and mainly focuses on marketing & media, stepping in as back-up carer as needed. Outside of Portland Sitters, she enjoys being creative through multiple mediums and spending time with family and friends.
Human Resouces & Administraive Coordinator
With Portland Sitters since December 2017, Amanda works as Administrative Assistant and helps with human resources for the company. Outside of Portland Sitters, Amanda can be found nose deep in a book or practicing her lines as she pursues her acting career. She loves to travel and hopes to fill her passport.
With the company since May 2021, Shae is a popular childcare provider with 6 years of experience. She’s known for her high-learning and creative environment, which has made her a fan-favorite among parents and their children. Shae is a reliable and trustworthy caregiver who is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the safety and well-being of her charges. When not working for Portland Sitters, Shae can be found baking, hiking, embroidering, and painting. She also enjoyed taking care of her plants and playing DND! Shae is working on her degrees in Music and German at the University of Portland!
With Portland Sitters since December 2018, Laurie has been a popular childcare provider for over 9 years. She’s known for her imaginative play, nurturing environment, and ability to make every child feel special. Laurie is a true asset to any family, and her clients love her! When not babysitting, Laurie likes painting, reading, and creative writing. Laurie also speaks German "enough to hold up a conversation".
With Portland Sitters since March 2023, Mikayla uses her 10 years of childcare experience and experience working with children with disabilities to bring a nurturing and trauma-informed care lens to each appointment. When not babysitting, Mikayla enjoys spending time in performance mediums including puppetry and musical theatre. Mikayla is actively working towards a certification in American Sign Language, and while not fluent, signs enough to hold a conversation.
With Portland Sitters since March 2023, Ioane uses his roughly 3 years of childcare, youth theatre leadership, and peer mentorship experience to give parents a break by providing a safe and fun environment for children to learn and grow. He is a patient and understanding caregiver who is always willing to help children with their needs. He is also a creative and energetic leader who can keep children entertained and engaged. In his peer mentorship role, he has helped many young people navigate difficult times and make positive decisions. When not babysitting, Ioane enjoys spending time making music, acting and surfing. Ioane is currently studying Business Administration at University of Hawaii - Hilo.
With Portland Sitters since June 2023, Chloe uses their roughly 6 years of childcare and tutoring experience to give parents and children time to explore their interests separately. They are a patient and understanding caregiver who is always willing to help children with their needs. They are also a creative, and is always down for arts and crafts. When not babysitting, Chloe enjoys spending time painting, playing music, playing with their bunnies, and operating their mobile bunny grooming business, HunnyBun Grooms.
