History
In 2016, as a junior in high school, Amanda Ryan found that there were lots of families looking for date night and occasional care for their children. Amanda also found that she and her classmates could use some extra money for school competitions, supplies, as well as helping their families with bills. Amanda, being the oldest of five children, found the obvious solution to both problems, and that is when the Portland Sitters Club was born, and a solution to both problems was brought to North Portland. She was able to continue this even through college and found even more students that could meet the needs of local families, and so the company grew from one person doing all the appointments, scheduling, and other administrative tasks, to a small team of administrators and sitters. After serving over 100 families in the North Portland area, we found that our concept worked
After serving over 100 families in the NoPo area, we found that this concept works. As Portland Sitters Club has grown, we continued to evolve and have found more needs that could be filled by great caregivers; including house sitting and pet sitting. From there, we developed and rebranded into Portland Sitters. We continue to appreciate the support our community has given us over the years, and cannot wait to see what the future holds!
